I went to the store at the weekend and found the staff to be incredibly helpful and kind. I also found the range of produce exceptional. I only went in for a few things and came out with loads! Special mention for the fantastic wine and spirit ranges and the great selection of cheese available.

I have been a loyal customer of Booths for many, many years, but not for much longer, I'm afraid, unless things radically start to improve. Over the last six months I have observed a steady decline in the quality and range of goods available. This started with the decision to no longer regularly stock the superb National Trust meat in the butchers department, and continued with the replacement of a varied and high quality range of products ( such as Heggartys pies and quiches) by Booths inferior quality own brand products. Have the quality controllers actually tasted the Booths Fish Pie? It is utterly dire, consisting of a small amount of tasteless (stale?) poor quality fish and an overwhelming amount of salt. I would be deeply embarrassed to put my name on it, let alone offer it for retail? My local store is Ilkley, and the staff, without exception, are all polite, friendly, helpful, and clearly committed to the Booths brand. Several that I have spoken to, however, state that they are frustrated by these recent changes in quality. Especially as they are in the unfortunate position of being directly in the firing line, having to deal with dissatisfied customers complaints. A recent purchase of a premium priced (£30) 1 kg joint of sirloin that was completely devoid of any flavour whatsoever, produced over 2 inches of liquid 'oil' on roasting ( which in no way resembled the usual beef dripping) and was the poorest quality beef that I have ever tasted. It bore absolutely no comparison whatsoever to the usual beef that I purchase. This complaint has now been handled admirably by Hannah, and her concern and level of professionalism does Booths credit. I can only hope that the managers at Booths Head office emulate Hannah's behaviour, and start making some in depth investigations of their own into the quality of some of their products - if not, they are foolishly risking alienating a large proportion of their loyal customer base. It is a dishonest premise to purport to offer quality products when that quality is now being consistently experienced as poor. An audit of comments and reviews currently displayed on the Booths customer service website might also prove to be enlightening to senior management in how The Booths brand is being publicly perceived.

hello booths, my wife purchased a dinner deal from your poulton store on saturday, this consisted of two fillet steaks, thick cut chips and two cheesecakes. I garnished the steaks with a tomato and fried mushrooms and then poured over the pepper butter sauce which was included as was a very nice bottle of red wine. we finished with the cheesecake and the rest of the wine. the meal was delicious (superb steak) and the price was unbelievable at only £15 for everything. many thanks and best wishes. brian lunn.
